Enjoy looking for fossils at Nihonbashi Takashimaya

Nihonbashi Takashimaya was founded in 1933 (1933), and in 2009 (2009), it was designated as a national important cultural property for the first time as a department store building. When you enter the store from the front entrance of the first floor of the main building, it features pillars with marble and blowout ceilings, and the solid structure creates a majestic atmosphere.

You can discover ammonites and Belemnite fossils on the pillars and walls of the marble, and enjoy the fun of shopping in the important cultural property building as well as the fun of searching for fossils. At the front reception on the first floor of the main building, you can get a flyer saying "Let's look for fossils at Nihonbashi Takashimaya!", And the place where fossils can be found in the hall is listed.

Ammonites appeared in the Paleozoic about 400 million years ago, and are said to have been extinct along with dinosaurs at the end of the Mesozoic 65 million years ago. It has a snail-shaped shell, but it is an octopus and squid friend (a crocodile crocodile) and lived in shallow seas. Belemnite was a group of squids (a crocodile crocodile) and lived in the same sea as ammonites. The shell of Belemnite was not outside the body, but had a shell shaped like a bullet inside. These hard shells remain as fossils.

Nihonbashi Takashimaya has been equipped with air conditioning and heating equipment throughout the building since its inception, and the advertising copy of "Hot place in Tokyo, where Takashimaya was left" dominated the world. If you're tired of shopping, look at the pillars and walls of marble for a while and look for ammonites and Belem Night fossils. I am sure that you can have an extraordinary experience.
