From Waseda to the land of Nihonbashi
When I was studying the Waseda neighborhood, I was ashamed to know for the first time that Waseda was the birthplace of katsudon. There seem to be various theories, but at least "Source Katsudon" is "European Eave", which opened in Tsurumaki-cho near Waseda University in 1913. From Waseda to Nihonbashi at the end of May this year, a sauce katsudon called Fukui, whose origin is "European Eave", came from Waseda to the area of Nihonbashi. It is located on the basement floor of Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower, along with Mitsukoshi and Mitsui Main Building.
Katsudon fast food
"Sosian," It advocates "adult fast food". Speaking of Nihonbashi and fast food, I remember Yasushi soba, a stall in the Edo period. Did you advocate fast food to open a store in Nihonbashi? I don't think so. Since the Waseda era, he did not make it, saying, "It is important to be able to eat freshly made products quickly."
"Homage" of the predecessor of the country
"Europeanken" moved to Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, and after the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 (1923), returned to his hometown of Fukui and opened a store, and is now a "sol food" representing the local area. Mr. Takehiko Mori, an IT consultant from Fukui who wanted to create a new breeze in the restaurant industry, opened in 2016 in Wasedatsurumakicho, the birthplace of "European Eave" in 2016. There is no human or financial relationship, and it is called a "homage" that respects "European eaves" and creates something similar.
From Nihonbashi to the World
The founder of "Europeanken" trained in Western Europe. Mr. Mori had no training in Europe and played with his own taste. For unavoidable reasons, we left Waseda and opened a store in Nihonbashi, but it is called "Japanese culture" that flexibly incorporates foreign products into a Japanese style, and we are looking at domestic and overseas expansion, starting with Nihonbashi. It's as if the five highways extend from Nihonbashi to the whole country.
Cutlet with reduced oil intake
There are three types of lunch on weekdays: katsu "Wasekatsudon", fried vegetables "Vegekatsudon", and katsu and vegetables "Vegemicsdon". I had the mainstay "Wasekatsudon". First of all, a total of five slices, three thin cutlets and two slightly thick cutlets, which were fried while being prepared to increase appetite, were seasoned with a special sauce, On top of the rice, steamed with a lid and on the table. After that, miso soup and pickles. It's been about 3 minutes since I ordered it. The thin one tastes the special sauce, and the other tastes the cutlet itself. It seems that fried food separates water and oil, and brings out the taste by frying method to reduce oil intake. The price is 1,000 yen including tax. Lunch time is from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For dinner from the evening, set meals and single items are also available. Open all year round.
