Held for the first time in three years! Ningyocho Setono City (August 1-August 3)

One of the summer traditions of Ningyocho is Ningyocho Setonoichi, which is held every year in the first week of August.
Stalls dealing with tableware such as ceramics are lined up on the sidewalk of Ningyocho-dori, which is full of many customers.
It was an event that I was looking forward to every year, but in 2020 and 2021 we were forced to cancel due to the spread of COVID-19 infection.…。 This year, 2022, was the first time in three years.

"Setonoichi", which began with the concentration of ceramics wholesalers in Kakigara-cho, Ningyo-cho, and Hamacho, is the 67th anniversary of this year's event.
Because the wholesaler opens directly, you can purchase vessels at a reasonable price. Some outlet items are sold at affordable prices, such as tens of yen to hundreds of yen, so you can easily see them around.
And Mashiko, Kasama, Shimizu, Bizen, Tobe, Arida, Hasami, Tsuboya…In addition, it is also attractive that pottery from all over Japan line up. It's fun to look around, and I've done about three laps.
When the dishes are renewed, the appetite will increase, and I feel that it is also effective in preventing summer batter!

Please see the atmosphere of Ningyocho-dori, which can only be seen during the event.

The attraction of Setonoichi is that you can enjoy the cityscape full of customers.
One of the spatial features of Ningyocho-dori is that eaves come out of the eaves of many stores.
At events like Setono City, the eaves of roadside stores and stall tents overlap, creating a tunnel-like space. You can enjoy a unique atmosphere like fair.

It is a day when COVID-19 is spreading again and I can't dispel anxiety, but I am glad that various events in Chuo-ku are being held little by little.

This year's Ningyocho Setonoichi will be held from 9:00 am to 20:00 pm for three days from Monday, August 1 to August 3 (Wed). It seems that there are places where you can do it.) Please come by all means!
