111 years since its establishment! Thank you Kyobashi Library
Hello. I'm Hanes, an active correspondent.
As you may know, Chuo-ku Kyobashi Library will be relocated to 1-13-14 Shintomi and will open on December 4 as a local lifelong learning base "Book Forest Chuou".
In 111 years after its opening and 93 years after its opening at its current location, the Kyobashi Library has been walking with the towns of the Kyobashi area.
Prior to the temporary closure from September, the “Kyobashi Library Closed Special Exhibition” with gratitude is being held near the entrance of the Kyobashi Library and the stairs landing until August 31.
In addition to seeing valuable photographs of the Kyobashi Library since its opening, the counter also distributes special bookmarks and commemorative booklets specially made at the Kyobashi Library.
The commemorative booklet contains photos on display at the special exhibition, and you can see the library loved by many locals, from children to adults.
The bookmark features a cute owl with a book-like pattern on the chest and abdomen, which reminds us of the book forest.
Why don't you pick it up when using the Kyobashi Library?
In addition, "Kyobashi Library Newsletter No. 4", which is currently distributed in the library, summarizes Ayumi of Kyobashi Library, writers and events related to Chuo-ku in an easy-to-understand manner.
There is also a web version, which is convenient and has plenty of information and photos, so it should also be useful for Chuo-ku sightseeing certification measures!
And of course, "Book Forest Chuou" is also introduced in detail.
Each floor is named after the forest floor on the first floor, the grass book layer on the second floor, the shrubs on the third floor, the sub-takagi layer on the fourth floor, the Takagi layer on the fifth floor, the forest crown on the sixth floor, and the hierarchy structure of the forest. I am.
The local reference room, which is convenient for conducting research on Chuo-ku, is said to be on the second floor of "Book Forest Chuou".
The Kyobashi Library is regrettable, but it is also true that the completion of "Book Forest Chuou" cannot be waited.
Regarding the construction status, the article in August 2021, "Scheduled to open in the summer of 2022" "Now of Honnomori Chuou" and the article in May 2022 "Scheduled to open on December 4 this year! It has been introduced at the complex "Now of Hon no Mori Chuou".
And as of August 7 and 8, construction is proceeding further, and the overall picture of the new facility is clear!
Looking at each floor while remembering the hierarchy of the forest, my life has not been blown yet, but I was able to confirm the installation of the watch.
And near the sidewalk, I was able to see the water outlet.
The water outlets in Chuo-ku are introduced in detail in the July 2018 article "Chuo-ku in the history of firefighting (Part 1)", and "Chuo-ku in the history of firefighting (Part 2)".
This is an article when I became a correspondent, but if you are interested, please take a look.
Although the building has been almost completed, the area in front of the building is expected to be improved in the future.
If you pass by this building around 18:00, you will see people who look at the building under construction when you leave work.
In addition to those who live nearby, there are many people who can't wait for completion.
By the way, "Book Forest Chuou" appears on Google map before completion!
It seems to be a facility that has been attracting attention since the construction stage.
We look forward to opening on December 4 in the future, and we will continue to observe the fixed-point of "Book Forest Chuou".
