It will resume soon! Tsukiji Honganji Tsukuda Island Branch
Hot days continue, but I've been interviewing you. It's Riverside.
There is a new building at the end of Tsukishima Nishinaka-dori, and I've seen it. It was Tsukiji Honganji Tsukuda Island Branch. Operation will resume from September 1st.
Tuesday, August 30: Senbutsuhoyo
Buddhist memorial service, where you will take the main deity of the former Tsukuda Island Archives main hall to Shinhondo.
Thursday, September 1: Completion ceremony
The building is 9 floors above ground and 1 floor below ground. Tsukuda Island Branch has an office with main hall on the second floor. On the first floor, "Tsukiji Honganji Cafe Tsumugi Hanare Tsukishima Store" and "Baby Flat" (nursing room) are set up, and on the third to ninth floors, a paid nursing home with nursing care "Domy Tsukishima Ekimae" is entered. There was also a public toilet.
Originally, there was the Tsukuda Island Archives. Did Mr. Kazuo bring a mischief and preach it?
Rather, it seems that the origin of the daily Nenbutsu dojo of the Tsukuda Island monks is the origin. Also, some of the building materials of the new building are used from the former Tsukuda Island School's main hall. I'm looking forward to finding out where it is used.
1st floor Tsukiji Honganji Cafe Tsumugi Hanare
On the first floor, there is "Wa Cafe Tsumugi" (operated by Pront Corporation), which also has a store at Tsukiji Honganji Information Center.
Tsukiji Honganji's "Cafe Tsumugi" is popular for "18 breakfasts", but a limited menu will also appear at "Tsukiji Honganji Cafe Tsumugi Hanare". There are also many take-out menus, and it is said that the aim is to create a shop that is loved by locals.
Greetings
On August 1st, the Tsukiji Honganji Tsukuda Building, which houses the fifth branch of Tsukiji Honganji Temple, Tsukudajima Branch, has been completed.
"Tsukiji" The origin of the place name was that in order to build Honganji Temple in the Edo period, he reclaimed the sea and built the foundation. At that time, the center was the monk of the Jodo Shinshu sect from Tsukuda, Settsu, Osaka. Since then, it has been a land full of old-fashioned humanity where many people with the religion of the Jodo Shinshu live, but in recent years the Tsukuda Island and Tsukishima areas have been constructed with high-rise apartments and the number of residents has increased, and a new community formation is required. I am. In considering the rebuilding of Tsukuda Island Branch, I wanted Tsukuda Island Branch to be one of its activity bases.
The first feature of this new branch is "creating bonds while living." I think temples should be involved in long life milestones and daily life, not just after the death of people. Buddhist monk visits nursing homes and listens to the stories of residents, and closes to the feelings of family members who care for them, so it is recognized as a "heart of heart" for people.
Another feature is the practice of "a temple business model that does not rely solely on funerals and graves." While it has been ridiculed as `` funeral Buddhism '' for a long time, if the temple can operate by conducting its own business rather than relying solely on funeral services, it can act as a base of religion without worrying too much . For this reason, Tsukuda Island Branch decided to conduct a real estate business, and as a tenant, they moved into a cafe and a paid nursing home with nursing care.
This case of Tsukuda Island Branch is the first case aimed at enabling permanent religious activities by making advanced use of the assets owned by Tsukiji Honganji as a whole and actively operating them. .
I think that our future efforts will attract attention. I hope that it will be proved as a new success case and will spread as a form of temple in the future.
Tsukiji Honganji will continue to work closely with you as an "open temple".
