Tsukiji Honganji opened the fifth branch and Tsukudajima branch in front of Tsukishima Station on September 1 as an activity base to spread the teachings of the Jodo Shinshu sect. There is Tsukiji Honganji Cafe on the first floor.
"Tsukiji" reclaimed the sea and built soil to solidify the foundation in order to build Honganji Temple in the Edo period. At that time, the center was the monk of the Jodo Shinshu sect from Tsukuda.

In the Edo era, Gobo in Yokoyamacho was burned down by the great fire of the Meiryaku era, and Tsukuda's monks worked together to reclaim the sea and build the current base land, so the name "Tsukiji" was created. Was.
In 1923, main hall was devastated by the Great Kanto Earthquake, and 58 lower houses were dispersed.
It was rebuilt in 1934 as a "stone building that imitates the ancient Indian style" designed by Chuta Ito.
main hall, gateposts (main gate, north gate, south gate) and stone walls are designated as important national cultural properties.

The fourth issue of the regional magazine "Tsukuda Tsukishima"
This is a regional magazine published twice a year in Tsukudazukijima, Chuo-ku. The publisher is a member of the Tsukishima Nagaya School, a local activity led by Professor Hideaki Shimura of Shibaura Institute of Technology.
This is the first regional magazine of Tsukuda and Tsukishima. The first issue was launched in January 2021.
