Cover of Shigejiro Sano

Shigejiro Sano's cover "Ginza Hundred Points" is Japan's first town magazine

I love the issue from 1955 to July 1969, when Shigejiro Sano of Ginza Hundred Points was in charge of the cover. I think it's better to say a small painting. How to use "Ginza Hundred Points" drawn with handwritten characters and brushes like painters...I don't want to put it in the picture frame. In this picture, the left side of "Tatsu" is on the top. This is the cover of the catalogue of my first solo exhibition as a Japanese in Paris.

This painting is now owned by the Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura & Hayama in Kamakura and is sometimes open to the public. This painting is a portrait of a painter (dead painter). The right side is up.

"Ginza 100 Points" was first published in 1955 (Showa 30).

"Ginza Hundred Points" was launched in 1955 (Showa 30). This is the first town magazine in Japan.
The theme at the time of its launch was "A booklet that delivers the scent of Ginza". Every month, Ginza is introduced in a magazine by a wide range of contributors, including various artists, artists, and people who create the city. Essays and round-table discussions by celebrities are well readable.

From the first issue, famous members such as Mantaro Kubota, Nobuko Yoshiya, and Keita Genji joined the writing team, and the tradition has been handed down to date.

In addition, many bestsellers have been born from the serialization of this magazine, such as Kuniko Mukoda's "Apologizing for Father", Shotaro Ikenami's "Ginza Diary", Makoto Wada's "Days of Dokidoki in the Ginza area".
