Let's touch the forest this fall! "Mori of Chuo-ku" Introduction Exhibition
Hello. It's Hanes.
The harsh summer days are still continuing, but the season is gradually changing to autumn where you can enjoy fruit picking and autumn leaves hunting.
Is there anyone who wants to enjoy the autumn scenery in Tokyo using the upcoming holidays?
For such people, I would like to recommend Hinohara Village, which has an exchange with Chuo-ku.
At the Chuo Ward Environmental Information Center in Tokyo Square Garden, the "Chuo-ku Forest" exhibition in Hinohara Village is being held until October 10 (Monday / holiday) as part of the "Autumn Forest Festival".
At the entrance of the introduction exhibition, "Sudanchu (cedar fairy)" character "Chuo-ku no Mori" welcomes you.
In addition to a panel exhibition that summarizes the exchange and relationship between Chuo-ku and Hinohara-mura, a guide map for the Chuo-ku Forest (Kazuma area) is also distributed to help plan mountain climbing and hiking.
Currently, Hinohara Village has "Chuo-ku Forest" in four districts: Kazuma district (approximately 37.4ha), Nango district (approximately 4.9ha), Motoshuku district (approximately 4.6ha), and Yazawa district (approximately 4.4ha). Forest conservation activities are being carried out.
In the Kazuma area, thinning, cutting undergrowth, planting trees and burning charcoal, etc. In other areas of Hinohara Village, we aim to restore the natural rich forest of Hinohara Village by cutting down coniferous tree and planting broadleaf tree.
The Kazuma area, where mountain climbing routes are maintained, is well known, but the most worrisome thing in this exhibition was the Yazawa area, which has a short history.
Furniture is made from thinned wood in this area, and it is said that it will be used in "Book Forest Chuou", which will open on December 4 this year.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of atmosphere the new facility will be like because it is connected to "Chuo-ku Forest", "Book Forest Chuo" and "Forest".
On the other hand, benches and tables using thinned wood from "Chuo-ku Forest" were not limited to [Excursion Series 14th] Forest! As introduced in "Chuo-ku" found in Hinohara Village, it is arranged in unexpected places such as bus stops and parks, adding warm warmth to the city.
In addition, it has a wide variety of applications, such as changing its appearance to toys and novelties.
The Autumn Forest Festival, where you can interact with the thinned wood of Chuo-ku Forest, will be held at the Chuo Ward Environmental Information Center from October 8 (Sat) to 10 (Mon./holiday).
Log cutting experience (application deadline: October 1), work using thinned wood from "Chuo-ku Forest" (application deadline: October 2), free work corner (application unnecessary), bamboo paper workshop (application unnecessary) There are plenty of projects that children can enjoy!
You can't miss this festival where you can have a valuable experience while staying in Chuo-ku.♪
In Chuo-ku, we are recruiting participants for the Hinohara Village Nature Experience Tour “Chuo-ku Forest” charcoal grilling and work road maintenance experience for Chuo-ku residents, working, and attending school (5th grade elementary school students and above). (Application deadline: Sunday, October 9 17:00)
It is an attractive program where you can experience charcoal grilling and work road maintenance at "Chuo-ku no Mori", enter the hot spring (Hinohara Onsen Center Kazuma no Yu) and sweat.
Since Chuo-ku bears part of the cost, the participation fee is 2500 yen including lunch!
If you are a resident, working, or studying in Chuo-ku who has never visited Chuo-ku Forest, why not enjoy nature in Hinohara Village this fall?
Extra: 2nd visit to Chuo-ku Forest
The other day, I had the opportunity to revisit "Chuo-ku no Mori (Kazuma area)".
There is a mountain climbing route of 992m large Haneyama, which is perfect for mountain climbing and hiking.
Due to time constraints, this time we hike a little bit.
I went to Japanese bigleaf magnolia at the end of the charcoal-grilled hut. For more information, please refer to the following link.
Next time I visit, I would like to enjoy mountain climbing while looking at the tree nameplate and stand on the top of Daihaneyama!
In general, I think that there is an image that mountain climbing routes and mountain trails are steep, or that the feet are unstable and difficult to walk.
However, the climbing route of "Chuo-ku Forest (Kazuma area)" has a solid scaffold, and some of the pleasures have handrails.
At first glance it looks very difficult to climb, but once you start climbing, it's strange that your feet move as if you were sucked into the forest.
Because it is a forest relatively close to the city center, it may be just a good retreat to get away from busy everyday life and the hustle and bustle of the city and reset your mind and body.
Speaking of which, as introduced on the information board of "Chuo-ku Forest", some Yamajino Hotogisu bloomed along the route.
In addition, we found several kinds of mushrooms and moss that seemed to be funny!
Climbing in a high mountain that takes a long time tends to be desperate to climb itself, but if it is a large Haneyama that climbs about an hour, it seems that you can afford to enjoy wildflowers that can enter your eyes on the way.
When climbing or hiking, please check the precautions in advance on the guide map.
In writing this article, the person in charge of Chuo-ku government office and Chuo-ku Environmental Information Center cooperated. I would like to thank you again.
