Hagi is a general term for the family Fabaceae, deciduous shrub or perennial plant. The leaves are alternate and consist of three leaflets. An inflorescence is formed on the upper leaf axils, with several to more than a dozen butterfly-shaped flowers such as red purple, white, and yellow-white. It is counted as one of the seven herbs in autumn, and the word "autumn" is applied to "Kusakanmuri", and it is a seasonal word for autumn, but in the new calendar, summer to autumn is the flowering season. It has long been popular among Japanese people, and among the 160 plants written in Manyoshu, hagi songs are the most common, with 141 songs written in song and 1 song written in title, totaling 142. There seem to be various theories about the etymology of the hagi, but it seems that the theory of "raw (c) bud (ki)" is generally influential. In addition to "Yamahagi", which grows naturally in the mountains of Japan, it is said that about 40 species such as "Miyaginohagi", "Nishikihagi", "Shirohagi", and "Marubahagi" are distributed, but it is named because the seeds resemble the foot trace of the thieves. "Nusubitohagi" is a different species in the genus Nusubitohagi. I heard that three species of Yamahagi, Miyaginohagi, and Marubahagi are planted in the Hamarikyu Garden around the former Inao Shrine, the ruins of Yan Liaokan, and Shioiri-no-ike Pond, but the plants around Shioiri-no-ike began to fall, creating a unique landscape of this season.
