Mid-Autumn Moon 2022
September 10th is "Mid-Autumn Moon (15 Nights)". In the lunar calendar, autumn is from July to September, and July is divided into early autumn, August is divided into late autumn, and September is divided into late autumn, while Nakashuku refers toold calendar August 15. This season is considered to be the best season to love the moon, with the moon rising at an angle just right to look up in the clear night sky, making it easy to spend seasonally. "Otsukimi" is the beginning of an elegant poetry singing party that incorporates the customs of Chinese moon viewing, which celebrates the fifteenth night as a mid-autumn festival, and when distributed to the common people, it is integrated with a farming ritual that appreciates the ancient autumn harvest, gradually deepening the color of the latter, admiring the fifteenth night as a symbol of rich fruit, and giving thanks and thanksoffering. From the Sumida River Terrace in Tsukiji, you can see the bright and round "Mezuki" shining above the window lights of the skyscrapers in Tsukishima and Kachidoki. Since the cycle of the phases of the moon is not constant, fifteen nights are not necessarily full, but this year you can enjoy the full moon as last year. By the way, the "Thirteen Nights" on September 13, old calendar, one step before the full moon, is October 8 this year.
