Chuo-ku-ku-Austria edition with the theme

Hello. I'm the active correspondent Hanes!
This year marks the 150th anniversary of Japan-Austria friendship, and the "Krimt Exhibition Vienna and Japan 1900" (Ueno, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum) will open, and the "Hapsburg Exhibition" (Ueno, The National Museum of Western Art) will be scheduled in autumn. It seems to be a year when you often come into contact with Austrian culture.

I'm interested in overseas culture, "I want to enjoy Austria even in Chuo-ku!"...With that in mind, I went around places related to Austria.

[Movie] EU Film Days 2019

From May 31st, EU Film Days 2019, where you can travel to Western Europe with movies (Click here for last year's report).
I visit every year, but this time I watched the Austrian movie "Kiosk (original title: Der Trafikant)" which will be premiered in Japan for the first time.

 Chuo-ku-ku-Austria edition with the theme

This work is a movie of "Kiosk" by Robert Zeterler, a world-renowned world-famous bestseller (Toshin Published, 2017).

The stage is Vienna, 1937.
A 17-year-old Franz, who came to apprentice to a small shop selling newspapers and tobacco, falls in love one day.
For the first time, it was a regular customer at the store and an expert 82-year-old Jigmund Floit (the role was Bruno Gunz, a famous actor who passed away in February).
With the rise of the Nazis, how is the life of the people living in Vienna at that time and the whereabouts of the love of France?...

The next screening is scheduled for 16:00 on June 23 (Sun) (with guest talk by the original translator Shinichi sake).
Because it is Sunday, I think that those who can not have time on weekdays can see it slowly.
If you are interested, please take a look.

It's also good news for film lovers and those who are interested in Austrian Hungary!
This year, in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan, Austria and Hungary, we plan to select and screen approximately eight films from both countries.

Don't miss this too!

[Cooking, Sweets, Coffee] Cafe Vienna

Next, I would like to introduce "Cafe Vienna", the first cafe in Japan that has been certified by the City of Vienna, the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Vienna Cafe House Association, and is certified by the Austrian Embassy.
Here you can enjoy Austrian cuisine, sweets, coffee, etc. that reproduce the authentic taste.

Zachttlete is famous for Vienna, but I ordered "Cardinard Schnitten" because I thought of sweets that I had never received before.
It is a coffee cream cake whose name comes from being similar to Cardinal Pauli's robe.
The fluffy meringue sandwiched with coffee cream is surprisingly elastic and responsive.
When combined with coffee, it's just the right sweetness, so I'd like you to have it elegantly in the afternoon.

In addition to Zachttlete, of course, "Apple and Caramel Kuglov (a traditional Vienna baked confectionery loved by Marie Antoinette)", "Chocolade Pudding (a traditional Vienna dessert named 'Moaim Hemto')" and "Apfelschtuloudel (a traditional baked confection that is said to be the prototype of apple pie)
Drinks are just authentic, so why don't you spend a different time as a set?

This is located on the 2nd floor of the main building of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, and it has a luxurious interior and a calm atmosphere.
It is a recommended cafe where you can stop by while shopping.

[Interior] MUSEE GINZA

The gallery "MUSEE GINZA", which was created by preserving and regenerating the modern architecture (retro building) built in 1932, is also on display.
(Click here for an article when we interviewed a special exhibition at the end of February.)

First of all, in the showcase next to the entrance on the first floor, many glassware such as uranium glass (designed by Joseph Hoffman) manufactured at Vienna Studio during the secession period are on display!
Please take a look at it.

Also, when I heard of Vienna's cafe because of the connection to "Cafe Vienna", the "Café Museum" designed by Adolph Roose, which I mentioned in previous article, comes to mind.
At that time, it is said that the simple design that eliminates the decoration of the loin was talked about.

A rare chair with a design similar to the Muzeum chair in the cafe Muzeum is now on display sandwiched between contemporary art (can also be purchased).
From May 1st (Wednesday) to June 30th (Sunday), "MUSEE GINZA Collection Exhibition '19Q2 Open to the public" (free of charge) is being held, so in June, when there are many rainy days, why not touch Austrian culture and art at the gallery?

[Pottery] Gumundner shop

Next, senior correspondent kimitaku said, "I found an Austrian pottery shop in Nihonbashi Ningyocho." "Gumundner Shop" introduced in (November 9, 2016)!
It is a wonderful shop that mainly deals with historical pottery that originated in 1492.

 Chuo-ku-ku-Austria edition with the theme

So far, I've just introduced something related to Vienna, but this pottery is located in Gumunden, 200 km west of Vienna and close to Salzburg, so you can meet Austria with a different atmosphere than Vienna ^^

Typical pottery patterns are traditional green flames (Grungeframt) and small flowers (Stroybrooden) patterns.
Although simple, it has a familiarity unique to the local area, and it is a design that you will not get tired of.

Currently, you can get a variety of overseas dishes in Chuo-ku.
However, if you like cooking, I would like you to check out Gumundner pottery especially!

What is the reason?...
Easy to use (all for microwave ovens, ovens and dishwashers)
The food stands out (I often appear in cooking magazines!) The Austrian Embassy is also used)
Reputed in Austria (at least one in half homes owns a Gumundner vessel)

In addition, since there are different colors in the same design, I think that it is just right for gifts for wedding anniversary or celebration of moving.
It seems that some people use small pottery not as tableware but as accessory holders or key holders.
As with me, if you have cute tableware, your cooking motivation will increase!
Also, if you serve it in this shining vessel, you may look good at cooking ^^*

In addition to pottery, rock salt related to Salzburg (how, the handling was decided based on the voices of customers!) There are also brooches and interior accessories with motifs of people wearing Edelweiss and folk costumes, as well as popular creamt goods this year.
The shop is very kind, so if you are interested, please take a look.

Yeah

We have not interviewed this time, but there are other Austrian culture in Chuo-ku, such as DEMEL Matsuya Ginza Main Store (Matsuya Ginza B1F) and Ginza Hapsburg File Hyen (Ginza 7-8-7 GINZA GREEN 7F).
If you don't have the time to travel abroad, why not discover (re) the charm of Austria in this memorable year?

Last but not least, thank you very much to the National Film Archive, Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, MUSEE GINZA, and Gumundner Shop (in order of introduction) for your cooperation.
