Chuo City Library and Book Forest Chuo

Hello. I'm Hanes, an active correspondent.
Since the Kyobashi Library was closed on August 31 and the transition to Book Forest Chuo began, the Nihonbashi Library and Tsukishima Library have been used more than ever.

The place where the Kyobashi Library was located was reclaimed in the early Edo period, and later the Tosa clan Yamauchi family placed Nakayashiki or Shimoyashiki.
On the north side (Chuo-ku government office side), there is an information board for the Tosa Domain Tsukiji House Ruins.

So, do you know what other libraries are on?
First of all, let's take a look at the Nihonbashi Library, a complex with Nihonbashi Elementary School.

At the bicycle parking lot on the left side of the entrance, I found the information board of "Saigo Takamori Yashiki Ruins"!
Yes, this place used to be the residence of Saigo Takamori, the former medal of the Meiji Restoration.
The mansion was set up here from 1871, when he moved to Tokyo and took office as a member, until 1873, when he was defeated by the theory of conquering Korea and resigned to Kagoshima.
There were 15 students and 7 lower men, and several hunting dogs.

This is a place that attracted special attention during the broadcast of NHK Taiga drama series's "Saigo Don" in 2018, and some people may have been featured in this blog frequently and remembered.

Next, let's take a look at the Tsukishima Library.
This is a complex with Tsukishima Kumin Center, where you will be greeted by a fine willow at the entrance.

In this area, there are no signboards showing historical sites of the Edo period, such as the Kyobashi Library and Nihonbashi Library.
That should be the case. Unlike Tsukuda Island, which was built by reclaiming the mouth of the Sumida River in 1644 and the Edo period, Tsukishima's first landfill was completed in 1892.
When Tsukishima No. 2 and No. 3 landfills and Shin-Tsukuda Island were completed, it was already in the Taisho era.

As for the story of the later era, the past article "Famil crest? A company emblem? "Approaching the mysterious mark that remains on the street corner of Tsukishima" covers the history of neighboring areas.
If you are interested, please take a look.

Finally, I would like to introduce the book forest Chuo waiting for the opening on December 4th.

According to the website of the Chuo City Library, an opening ceremony event will be held on the day of opening, and an opening commemorative event will be held in December and January.
Some events have already reached the capacity, indicating the high level of attention to the opening of the book forest Chuo.

By the way, as for the bicycle parking lot and community cycle port mentioned when we introduced this facility last time, we confirmed that a cycle rack was installed as of the end of October.
Bicycles that do not have a stand, such as road bikes, are easy to park bicycles.♪

In addition, the maintenance of parking lots was also progressing.
Even if you come by private car from afar, it is convenient to have a parking lot dedicated to the facility without searching for the surrounding coin parking.

About three weeks have passed since the photo was taken.
The book forest will be evolving further toward the opening of the museum.
I would like to introduce a fixed point observation again when passing nearby!
