On October 19th and 20th, "Betara City" was held for the first time in three years. I visited Mrs. Kyobashi of Minatokko's story "Tragedy of Bettara City!" and headed to Nihonbashi Honmachi. Many radish women greeted me at the storefront of "Tokyo Shintakaya". The radish lady once arrived at Kyobashi from Nerima by boat, and now came from distant regions such as Aomori.

"Tokyo Shintakaya" is a shop in Hamacho, Chuo-ku, which manufactures and wholesales Betta pickles. The banner of "Imperial Household Agency's purvey" stood    It's lively with many people.

Betta pickles are made by soaking shallow salted radish in candy (sugar) and koji. It is a sweet pickles with plenty of moisture because it is not dried like takuan. The taste of Edo, which was the favorite of the last general, Yoshinobu Tokugawa, is still alive. It is also lucky items who says, "The fortune will stick."

The unmanned Takarada Ebisu Shrine is usually open, and I was able to worship the statue of Ebisu in sacred object of worship, which is said to have been given by Ieyasu Tokugawa. He has a strong faith as a god of commerce. A lot of beta pickles stalls lined up excited this festival.
