The beginning of Reiwa
The clock tower of Ginza and Wako that has carved time for four eras: Meiji, Taisho era, Showa, and Heisei.
At midnight on April 30, 2019, when the times change, the Ginza Wako Main Building / Clock Tower will be lit up, and the Westminster chime will begin playing a prologue of the new era "Reiwa" 45 seconds before midnight.
When the chime sounds, the sound of the 12 bells tells midnight, specially opening the shutter of the show window, celebrating the beginning of Reiwa and the throne of the Emperor.
On the display at the show window, "Reiwa no Book" written by Hiromitsu Ishibi, the Japanese calligraphy family, is written by Hiromitsu Ishibi, and the theme of "season," expresses the feeling of expectation for a new era, as well as the attachment to Japanese culture that has discovered many beauty in the changing seasons, with flowers from twenty-four season old calendar. (The new era display will be limited to 6 days from May 1 to 6)
