"Ginza Willow" Growth Diary-Autumn 2022-

Hello. I'm Hanes, an active correspondent.
When I returned home after a long absence the other day, the "Ginza willow" planted in the garden of my parents' house was very large.
It has been three and a half years since I received small seedlings at the Ginza Yanagi Festival.
It did not grow as expected on the veranda of the condominium in the ward, but when planted locally, you will be surprised at the speed of growth of willows.

Perhaps some of the people who are watching this blog are growing "Ginza's willow"?
Although it is different from sightseeing information, I will introduce a little willow of my parents' home along with the willow of the street tree seen in Chuo-ku.

As you can see in the picture above, the trunk near the base became so thick that it could not be turned around with the thumb and forefinger.
This year, new branches grow, and willows grow to about 4m!
Although the leaves gradually die and fall in season, I want to hum the lyrics engraved on "♪) Remnants of Yanagi Edo in Ginza, which is nice to plant, and "Ginza Yanagi Monument" at Ginza 8-chome.

In Chuo-ku, you can see willow street trees outside the Ginza area.
In general, street trees are given a tree number based on the street tree ledger.

According to Chuo-ku's "2022 Street Tree Ledger" (viewed on November 14, 2022), the splendid row of willow trees planted next to Shimbashi Enbujo corresponds to "Kyo-24".
In addition, the number is assigned to each tree, and street trees, which are the environmental infrastructure in cities, are properly maintained and managed.
You can walk around the city with peace of mind because you are well managed on a daily basis, such as patrol inspections, pruning, and pest control.

It will take a long time for my parents' home "Ginza willow" to grow so much, but I would like to continue to enjoy watching the growth.
