Autumn is the end of the season! Matsushima Shrine & Namiki Shrine Tori-no-ichi Fair

I came to "Ichi no Rooster" on November 4th, when it was cloudy in autumn. The "hand tightening" at Engi kumade business sounds lively.

The Tori-no-ichi Fair in Chuo-ku will be held at two locations: Ningyocho Matsushima Shrine and Tsukiji / Namiki Shrine. This year (2,022) will be held on November 16 and November 28.

Tori-no-ichi Fair originated in Harvest festival, a peasant from the Edo period, and it seems that the prevailing theory began when farmers dedicated birds to the shrine to appreciate the autumn harvest at Owase Shrine in Adachi-ku, Tokyo.

In Tori-no-ichi Fair, "Engi kumade, which brings together the fortunes," which is decorated with various lucky itemss, is a specialty, and you can enjoy the business!

It is also held in more than 30 places, mainly in the Kanto region, and the stalls are lined up with large and small kumade, steamed eight heads (for prospering offspring) and Japanese sweets-flavored cut Sansho (for the medicinal effect of Sansho and coloring) are also sold as lucky items.

Ningyocho Matsushima Shrine: It is said that at the time of its foundation, the surrounding area was Kojima in the inlet, and the name was given because of the pine trees growing in Shimauchi. Before the Great Fire of the Meiryaku era (1657) occurred, a play town spread around, so worshipers such as doll craftsmen, kimono merchants, Kabuki actors, and geiko were thriving. It is said that there is a synonym for the fulfillment of treasure infinity and great wishes. (From Chuo-ku Monoshiri Coins)

◎It is different from Tori-no-ichi Fair, but purchase Matsushima Shrine's popular tag "Ryomufuda" ... Write a dream you want to fulfill, put it under the pillow every night, and pray at the shrine to become a true dream if you have a good dream. In recent years ... the idea of Miyashi.

Tsukiji, Namiwari Inari Shrine: Reclaiming the great fire of the Meiryaku era (1657) was extremely difficult, but one night there was something floating on the sea surface, and when I left the ship, it was the god of Inari Oga. We made a shrine hall here and prayed and had a grand festival. After that, the waves stopped and the construction proceeded. In 1659, Namiwa Inari Shrine was founded from this fact, and the lion festival was carried around with a huge head of a dragon that obeys clouds, a tiger that obeys the wind, and a lion that hides in a single voice. Festival has begun. (From the PC site of Namishi Inari Shrine)

◎The large lion of male and female who revived in Heisei is excited today's Tori-no-ichi Fair. The Tsukiji Lion Festival (June) has a main festival once every three years, but is held as a shadow festival in other years.

・Nearest station: Tsukiji Station on the Toei Oedo Line and Tsukiji Station on the Metro Hibiya Line.
