"Ginza" How far is it?
Let's go around Ginza! ①
~ Shiodome archeological site [Part 1] Machiishi and cut stones ~
Remotely navigate the beloved Chuo-ku, rosemary sea.
I uploaded it on December 8, last year, "What is this monument? I suddenly thought during the process of writing "Scenery of the border of Chuo-ku-ku".
Why don't you go around the border of Chuo-ku? And so.
But I gave up this idea right away.
No matter how small and small Chuo-ku, the area around 10.115 square kilometers is too far.
And there is no guarantee that there is a way for ordinary people to walk on the water front.
So, can you go around "Ginza"? I thought about it.
Almost all Rosmari has never visited Chuo-ku, but I decided to walk around Ginza on a good day and go around.
Actually, I've already walked around Ginza the other day.
It took about two and a half hours without a break.
We will introduce the spots in order.
This series is scheduled to be published once a month.
And as for the way around it, Ginza is from 1-chome to 8-chome ...
The start of this series was "From the edge of 8-chome to clockwise and then back to the edge of 8-chome".
I would like to explain why we started from the edge of Ginza 8-chome here.
Because there was an edge at the end of the pedestrian bridge here.
After Aoyama's children's talent office, my daughter decided to belong to a model office in Ginza.
The model office was located near the pedestrian bridge here.
That's why this place is a familiar spot for Rosmali.
・・"How far is 'Ginza'? Let's go around Ginza!" It's a start.
The first one is an introduction from the stone object under this pedestrian bridge, "Shiodome Ruins [Part 1] Machiishi and Cut Stone".
Kenchiishi and cut stone
Shiodome Site
Machiishi in the shape of a square cone and cut stones processed into a plate were used in the stone groove (Ishikumi Mizo: Drainage Facility) at Daimyo's mansion.
Shiodome (Shiodome)
The place name "Shiodome" was set up in Dobashi, which separates Edo Castle outer moat and the sea, so it came to be used as a nearby place name because the water of the sea cannot enter outer moat.
This was after the Kanei era (1624-1644), and the name "Shiodome" was born with the early modern era.
In the Shiodome area, which was landed by land reclamation by Ieyasu Tokugawa's construction of a town after entering Edo, the first place to worship the mansion was the Wakisaka family in the Tatsuno Domain (around Tatsuno, Harima Country, now Tatsuno City, Hyogo Prefecture). The name is written for the first time in "Edonoshozu, Takeshu Toshima-gun" established in 1632.
Reclaimed land continued, with the Hoshina family of the Aizu clan in 1639 and the Date clan of the Sendai clan in Edo shogunate worshiped the site in 1818.
The site of the daimyo residence was vast, and the excavation survey of the daimyo residence in Minato-ku was limited to investigating a part of the site.
However, excavations in Shiodome were conducted and the entire area of the clan residence was expected to be able to grasp the whole picture of the Edo clan residence that could not be grasped until now.
As a result of the excavation survey, earth retaining, shelves, building traces, water and sewage facilities such as wells and wooden tubs, buried facilities such as basements and buried tubs, pond traces, garbage (Jinkai / Chiri Akuta) A wide variety of archeological sites such as earth piles and stone walls, and a large amount of relics associated with them have been detected.
It is said that more than 1,000 retainer lived in the residences of each clan in Edo, and when sankin kotai lived in Edo in feudal lord, more retainer lived there.
It is not hard to imagine that a large amount of goods have been sent to these mansions from various countries.
Since the premises of the three clans, Wakisaka, Date, and Hoshina, face the sea directly, "Funairi" was set up in the mansion, and the goods transported by boat could be landed directly from the sea. Was.
In addition, the population increased due to the influx of people, and one million city Edo was the world's largest consumer area at that time, and various production supplies were transported from all over the country using sea and land.
Relics excavated from the archeological site were purchased directly from the production area or Kunimoto by sea or land, and those living in the residence, etc., purchased in Edo City as necessary.
These relics can be said to be proof of the lives of people who lived in each clan residence during the Edo period.

The current location is just the place to introduce.
By the way, the Shiodome area in Minato-ku is shown on the right of this map.
I would like to introduce Shiodome a little in the last episode of this series.
The entire Ginza map will be used beside the Sukiyabashi police box.
The red star at the lower right of the entire Ginza map is the point introduced this time.
This is the starting point of this series.
By the way, Ginza 1-chome has a row in the upper row, 2-chome is a row in the lower row, and ... 8-chome is a row in the lower row.
