In the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake, the surrounding area became scorched and used as a refuge, leading to a policy of integrating schools and parks in the development of reconstruction parks. Following the post-war reconstruction, the third renovation following the rebuilding of Sakamoto Elementary School was completed in 2021.

The Sakamotocho Park Future Green Club has participated in the plan since the renovation of the park, usually cooperates with the cleaning of the park and the maintenance of the lawn, and plans events and works hard to revitalize the local area around the park.
