Yeongchun! Three Rabbit-related Spots in Chuo-ku
Happy new year. I'm Hanes, an active correspondent.
There is a phrase, "The total for the year is on New Year's Day", but did you plan this year?
I am keen to make a year active in sports, such as cycling and marathons.
Therefore, in this blog, we would like to introduce sports elements such as recommended cycling courses and marathon courses in the city while transmitting the charm of the city as before.
I look forward to seeing you again this year.♪
By the way, in the first article in 2023, we will take up rabbit-related spots in Chuo-ku in connection with the Year of the Rabbit!
We hope that we can provide healing with cute rabbits that you can meet in Chuo-ku.
There is also information on Japanese sweets shops bearing the name of "Rabbit", so please take a look to the end.
Tsukiji Eto Building
The first rabbit-related spot we visited is the annual Tsukiji Eto Building!
There is a unique Terracotta Earthly Branches relief on the wall, and I am looking forward to seeing the next year's relief at the end of the year.
Rabbit is impressive as shown in the photo of the top, with a lively appearance.
You can also see the full moon in the upper right corner.
There is a cute carillon near this building.
There is also a zodiac direction, reaffirming that the Rabbit is just in the east direction.
At the time, the Rabbit was equivalent to 6:00 am, so I felt a little like I lived in the Edo period.
Tsukiji / Namishi Inari Shrine
Next, the annual Tsukiji and Namiwari Inari Shrine.
At this shrine, we give and receive a charm called "Zodiac Guard", and there are Earthly Branches lanterns on the grounds.
Compared to the rabbits in Tsukiji and Bill, the rabbits engraved on this lantern seem to grow up.
And some of you may notice when you look at the photos. A rabbit figurine is provided at the live fish mound behind the lantern. It may be because it's the year of the Rabbit.
If you are born in the year of rabbit, why not visit Tsukiji when you visit?
Hatsune Mori Children's Park
The last is Hatsune Mori Children's Park, which seems to have no relationship with rabbits.
I didn't know until I looked it up, but according to the Chuo-ku website, "There used to be a forest in this place, and creatures such as Japanese bush warbler and rabbits lived!"
Hatsune Mori Children's Park is located at the northernmost point of Chuo-ku, and it will be Chiyoda-ku after crossing the Kanda River.
Knowing that it was a park that was renewed in August 2022, I immediately went to look for something related to rabbits.
Then discover playground equipment designed with Japanese bush warbler and rabbits!
Apparently, he did "invention of playground equipment selection and placement based on local information".
Even if redevelopment is carried out, the past, present, and future will be connected in this way.
It was a moment when I unexpectedly glimpse of the stylish side of Chuo-ku.
This rabbit playground equipment is deformed to be easy to play, and it has a cuteness reminiscent of a snow rabbit or a rabbit bun rather than a real rabbit.
Yeah
It was not easy to find rabbit-related spots in Chuo-ku, except in places where zodiac-related items are available, but it was an interesting discovery that rabbits once lived in Chuo-ku.
In addition, Nihonbashi Rabbit and Chuo-dori store dorayaki, also known as the rabbit mark, ranked third in the food category of recommended souvenirs in Chuo-ku in 2022.
It's perfect for New Year's greetings, so why don't you stop by the shop when you come to Nihonbashi?
