Find a place where the Nihonbashi River and the Sun hit

Christmas Sunday. I took a walk around Nihonbashi early in the morning. To put it in detail, this area is on the opposite bank of the Nihonbashi River, so it seems to be Chiyoda-ku. The photo shows a bronze statue of Eiichi Shibusawa at the site of Tokiwa Hashikado. It seems to be warm in the morning sun with my whole body.

It's cold today too. The cold wave arrived in December, and recently many days did not want to get out of the futon. In the sunshine at Eiichi's feet, birds gather narrowly and rest their wings warmly.

Today, the weather seemed to be good, so I got off at Mitsukoshimae Station on the Ginza Line, passed through the buildings, and came around this border.

This area has many buildings. Recently, ultra-high-rise buildings have been redeveloped, and I feel that the number of places where the sun shines has been reduced. It's around this time that the day has become shorter, the cold has become soaked, and the importance of Ohisama has been felt again.

Behind this statue is the Jobanbashi bridge over the Nihonbashi River, which has been beautifully maintained by recent restoration work. Although the Metropolitan Expressway runs above the Nihonbashi River, it will eventually be removed by undergrounding, so it may be a day when this bridge can be exposed to the sun all over.

Nevertheless, the place where the sun shines in this area changes rapidly. The main pillar of Jobanbashi, which seemed to be almost broken before, became beautiful so that it could be mistaken, but it will soon be a place where the sun does not hit. That's why now is the chance and release the shutter.

After all, the photos look better when the sun shines, and the blue sky on a sunny day is clearer and more pleasant than on a cloudy day.

There are several benches on the trace of Tokiwa Hashikado on the opposite side of Chuo-ku of this bridge, Chiyoda-ku side, and it seems very warm. I'll sit down with a chance to see if it's going to be shaded soon.

Wow~~~~~~~~~~~ The car on the highway is running, but there is no wind and it is quieter than I thought. If the sun is shining, I might like this place. But if the sound of the highway disappears, it may be better. The Bank of Japan's appearance over the bridge is a landscape that can be seen and relaxed, and expectations are growing from now on, as expressways become underground.

If you look at Shin Tokiwa Bridge on the left side of the bench, upstream of the river, if you think that the sparrows are catching food with their friends in the sun, a large bird will be exposed to the sun on the entire back. Was.

It seems that I was not the only one looking for a place where the sun shines.

By the way, I decided to leave this place and walk down the downstream side of Nihonbashi River toward Tokiwa Bridge and Ichiishi Bridge.

Last year, on the site of Tokiwa Bridge Tower, which was built in Otemachi on the Chiyoda-ku side, there is a terrace where you can see the river surface, and you can see the Chuo-ku side on the opposite bank of the river. The "Ichikoku Bridge" is located on the downstream side. This place used to be the intersection of Nihonbashi River, outer moat and Dosanbori, and it seems to have been a good place for a long time.

Dosanbori and outer moat have been reclaimed, but now this terrace is located outside the Nihonbashi River curve and has a good view, so I think it's a very good space to enjoy the Nihonbashi River. There is no doubt that the view will be better if the highway disappears.

When you come to the base of Ichiishibashi, you can see the huge main pillar from the predecessor Ichiishibashi era and the stone signpost of "Wandering Children's Signs" from the Edo era.

In this stone marker
On the front, "Mitsuyo Hiko's Spirit."
 On the right side, "Shirarukata"
 On the left side, "Tazuru"
On the back side is "Kenno Nishi-Kagishi-cho, February of Ansei 4cho Tomoe".
It was carved and used to solve the problem by putting paper on the side when I wanted to find or inform a lost child or inquirer.

The fact that this stone mark is located in this place is a sign that there were many passers-by in the past, but how many lost people were helped by this stone mark, and what kind of lost people's worries were resolved? What about? 。 I'm not sure.

By the way, the entrance to the Gofuku Bridge at the Metropolitan Expressway beside this Ichiishi Bridge has been blocked, and the removal work has already begun. Until now, it was difficult to see the downstream from Ichiishibashi, but when removed, will you actually see Mitsukoshi department stores and Nihonbashi? I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of landscape it will change to.

By the way, Christmas is now the end, and the New Year of 2023 is finally coming.

It's a fine weather, so I went to Nihonbashi for New Year's Day.

Speaking of New Year's Nihonbashi, I think of the climax scene of the return trip of Hakone Ekiden.

It is a scene where runners from each school cross Nihonbashi, turn left at the intersection of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi in front of you, cross Tokiwa Bridge, and cut Otemachi's goal tape.

This is the scenery of the blue sky from the "Place of the Original Mark" under Nihonbashi. The former Tokyo City Road Mark was located in the center of Nihonbashi, and the Mitsukoshi of Nihonbashi on the right back. The leaves of the yellow ginkgo still remained. The runner runs through before this.

Every year, New Year's Day in Tokyo has many sunny days, so it seems that you can watch Ekiden along the road, but it is an essential condition to follow the watching manners associated with COVID-19. Next year, the days of being tossed by COVID-19 are likely to continue.

This is from a picture above the statue of Otohime in "Otohime no Hiroba". Flowers are always displayed beautifully. It's better if Ohisama hits it. And the blue sky! 。

That's why everyone was able to finish writing the 100th article this time. It happened to happen, but it was the 100th time, so at the end it was a photo of a department store.

We hope you all have a good new year.
There were some sad news this year, but I hope that next year will be a sunny year that has not been seen in recent years.
