You can see 100 ideas that use the public space of Ginza interestingly! MUJI for Public Space Exhibition
"Muji Ginza" opened in 2019 as the world flagship store of Muji.
At "ATELIER MUJI GINZA" on the 6th floor, "MUJI for Public Space Exhibition-100 Ideas for Enjoying the City-" will be held until January 29, 2023.
In this exhibition, while using various products from Muji, the public space in the town of Ginza will be used.…Specifically, public telephone booths, parking meters, subway entrance stairs after last train, street trees, pedestrian paradise…A collection of 100 ideas that change the way used is displayed in the form of models and continuous photographs.
For example, the idea projected on the screen in this photo is to fill the parking meter section with a "sofa that fits the body" to create a cushion pool.
If I could do this on the street in Ginza…I'm thrilled to think about it.
You can enjoy watching various ideas with models and continuous photos.
At the venue, models of typical ideas are displayed for each type of public space, and other ideas are displayed on nearby monitors and screens.
In the case of a parking meter, what is displayed on the model is the idea of combining a "steel unit shelf" used for indoor storage into a stall. Basically, it is a Muji product used indoors, but when considering using it in public space, did you have such an idea? I'm surprised.
A race at Ginza Chuo-dori!
One of the most prominent models is the idea of turning the pedestrian paradise on Ginza Chuo-dori into an athletics stadium. The spectator seats also use the "polypropylene sturdy storage box" of storage supplies.
In this exhibition, ideas are being developed with free ideas, while taking into account the architectural fit, without boldly thinking too much about laws and regulations.

Daisuke Motoki, the architect who leads the DDAA LAB of the planning cooperation, carried out an activity in 2020 to post Alvar Aalto's masterpiece chair "Stool 60" on Instagram, considering the expansion of 100 types of functions.
This exhibition is a Muji product that has the same standards and can be purchased all over Japan, so it may be possible to do the same thing.…That's why the project started.

The secret hidden in the ceiling of the venue!
BGM is playing in the venue, but in addition to that, small speakers are installed on the ceiling.
