Panel display of past cover of monthly Nihonbashi Nihonbashi Takashimaya
New Year's events are being held in various places, but a little interesting event is being held in the event space on the first floor of the main building of Nihonbashi Takashimaya.
This is an event on display of the past cover of "Monthly Nihonbashi" that you all know.
The monthly Nihonbashi area has been 44 years since its launch in 1979 (1979), and so far, works by famous artists, ukiyo-e, and photographs of beautiful Nihonbashi have been displayed on the cover.
In this panel exhibition, 170 covers are on display.

Ukiyo-e by Kuniyoshi Utagawa
Speaking of the cover of the monthly Nihonbashi Nihonbashi, this is the Kuniyoshi series. Since I started reading the monthly Nihonbashi Nihonbashi, the cover was always Kuniyoshi, and until then, I only knew about ukiyo-e, Hokusai, Hiroshige, Sharaku, and Utamaro, but through Kuniyoshi's ukiyo-e, I learned the depth and fun of Ukiyo-e. It was a really wonderful project.
Many artists' works decorated the cover.

And the photo of Nihonbashi Bijin in 1979, which was first published, was interesting. I understood the fashion and hairstyles of the time well, and it was nostalgic, so I enjoyed it very much.
It's a small exhibition space.
