Let's eat doll ware deliciously
The Ningyocho area has an old-fashioned atmosphere, and interesting shops are lined up. It is an area suitable for small walks, gourmet tours, historical walks, etc. In the Edo period, it was a big entertainment district lined with playhouses, but you can still feel the lingering. The puppet show was also thriving, so many puppeteers lived, so the place name [Ningyocho] was born. However, it was only after the Showa era that it was officially established as a town name.
One of the specialties of this town is "doll-yaki". There are several stores that sell, but [Itakuraya] is said to be the birthplace of the shop. Founded in 1907, it is a venerable shop. I often take customers to this shop for tourist information. The old Seven Lucky Gods is decorated in the storefront, so foreign tourists sometimes offer to buy it.
At this shop, we continue to hand-baked using the old mold, and it will be fun just to observe the situation. If you eat freshly baked goods immediately, the elegant sweetness wrapped in hot and fragrant dough spreads throughout your mouth.
If it is cold after taking it home as a souvenir, heat it with an oven toaster so that it does not burn. The scent close to freshly made is revived and you can enjoy it very delicious.
Please try it when you go out to Ningyocho.
