 2023 Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine Festival·bean-throwing ceremony

February 3 is Setsubun Day, a typical seasonal event in February. At Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine (Tsukuda 1), the annual "bean-throwing ceremony" was held in the precincts of Kagura Hall from 15:00 after the festival was held for the first time in three years. Setsubun was originally the turn of the season, the day before the spring, summer, fall, and winter. Ritsuharu was particularly valued as the beginning of the year, and Setsubun gradually began to refer to the spring Setsubun. There is also the word "Rishun New Year", and in the Imperial Palace, there was an event called "Tono" to purify the evils and evils of the old year in Setsubun, but since the Muromachi period, it has evolved into an event to sow beans and drive out evil demons, gradually spread to the people, and is believed to this day. There seems to be a theory that the beans used in bean-throwing ceremony are roasted beans, leading to roasting, and shooting "Mame" leads to "Mame". When the beans and sweets are scattered from Kagura Hall, nursery school children and school children who gathered to get "Fuku" reach out all at once, and shouts such as "Here, here" and "Onegaishimasu" rise.
