Yujo Ningyocho Flower Festival

This is an event to celebrate the birth of the Buddha.

We have participated in the Ningyocho Great Kannon-ji Flower Festival, which has regained the bustle of the past year.

At the Oganonji Temple, the Hanamido is prepared, following the fact that worshipers hold sweet tea on the statue of Buddha and celebrate Historical Buddha's birthday. There is the name of "Shubutsukai". It is derived from the tradition that when the Buddha was born, "a dragon descends from heaven and irrigates incense water." In the old days, it was said that incense and five colors of perfume were mixed with fragrances, but it is said that it spread instead of sweet tea in the Edo period.

In front of Daikanonji, Amacha and Confectionery Shiga were served by the Ningyocho Shopping Street Cooperative.

From the early Edo period, playhouses and teahouses gathered, and many puppeteers lived, so they eventually came to be called Ningyocho. There is a taste and emotion unique to this area, and various events are held to entertain visitors even now.

The town, built since the early Edo period, has good access to the Nihonbashi River, which still remains, is a stylish town where people gather and feel the remnants of the history that flourished as a commercial area.

The Karakuri Ogura clock of "town fire extinguisher" and "Edo Rakugo" is a symbol that conveys the history of the good old days of Edo.

Even now, it is full of smart downtown temperament. Why don't you take a stroll through the town where the spring breeze is comfortable and you can feel the scent of Edo?
