Edamame

This is Edamame, a correspondent with children.♪

On February 18 (Saturday), the 15th Chuo-ku sightseeing certification was carried out!

Everyone who took the test, thank you very much!

I've taken the Edamame too.

The exam preparation is 4 days. (It's too late to start every time!)

At midnight when my daughter Azuki (Small 1) was slept, unravel the past questions and wake up the rusted head.

In 3 days, we will solve the past questions of 10 years with momentum.

In the remaining one day, we summarized this theme question "Building in Chuo-ku".

So, you should have got a score that you think it would be okay to call yourself a "correspondent".

※"Good children should never imitate!" I think it's a test preparation method ...

That's why.

After all, there's something to do.

If you take a walk, I would like to have a reflection meeting.

Let's go to Yanagibashi.

Let's go to Yanagibashi. One of the correspondents' reflection meeting 2023-Part 1 Yanagibashi balustrade-

Well.

First of all, take a walk towards Yanagibashi.

It's a spot that is not so far from home.

But I don't think I've been walking around here recently.

In the first place, it was a long time when I was planning to go out due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To be honest, I was walking consciously

It was around February 2017 when I took the first exam.

It's been six years ago.

At that time, I was walking around various parts of the city with a 1-year-old azuki in a stroller.

I miss you.

Yeah. It may be because it was such a time.

I want to keep the walking distance to a minimum.

I don't feel like I'm crossing Yanagibashi.

Read the explanation board installed by Chuo-ku at the base of the bridge.

I think I left with a light look at the "Monoshiri Encyclopedia" ...

After all, "the other side across Yanagibashi" will be Taito-ku, not Chuo-ku.

That's why.

I didn't see what was in the balustrade at all ...

History of Yanagibashi

One of the Correspondents of Yanagibashi History (Osarai) 2023-Part 1 Yanagibashi Parade

See you.

Let's take a look at the basic information of Yanagibashi from "Monoshiri Encyclopedia".

Yanagibashi is an iron bridge built over the estuary where the Kanda River flows into the Sumida River.

You can see the Ryogoku Bridge in the immediate vicinity.

This area may be said to be the northernmost area when viewed from the whole Chuo-ku.

It's also the border with Taito Ward.

If you cross the Kanda River, you will find JR Asakusabashi Station very close.

It was the beginning of Yanagibashi that the old town built a wooden bridge in 1698 (1698).

In 1887 (1887), it was replaced by a truss bridge.

This bridge was made of steel, but it was dropped due to the Great Kanto Earthquake.

The current bridge was built in 1929 (1929).

(At the base of the bridge, there was a stone monument written as "Reconstruction Memorial.")

A simple and heavy design is adopted using the Eitai Bridge as a model.

In addition, it is the first bridge at the mouth of the tributary pouring into the Sumida River.

It is also characterized by the fact that the boatman returning from the Sumida River has a shape that makes it easy to check the position.

This area has been famous as a base for boating since the Edo period.

It is also described in literary works such as Kafu Nagai's "Peony Guest" and Riichi Yokomitsu's "Crest".

There are still many lodgings, and you can see a lot of houseboats near the bridge.

What was it on the balustrade?

What was it on the balustrade? One of the correspondents' reflection meeting 2023-Part 1 Yanagibashi balustrade-

That's right.

This time, I learned about the balustrade relief.

That's right.

It's "Kanzashi"!

The area around Yanagibashi is a place that was famous as "Hanamachi".

For this reason, a small "Kanzashi relief" was attached to the balustrade of the bridge.

There are two types of red and blue ornaments.

It is in the form that it is alternately attached to the balustrade of the bridge.

In fact, there is no mention of this "Relief of Kanzashi" in "Monoshiri Encyclopedia".

To get a high score, it's also important to walk around the city and actually see it.

Keep your mind tight from now on (?) I'm going to walk around the city.

And let's cross the bridge at the border of the ward! I thought strongly about it.
