To celebrate the 50th year of the fifth shogun Tsunayoshi
It is Eitai Bridge that was built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the fifth shogun Tsunayoshi. It was bridged about 150m upstream from the current bridge position. It was connected to Kitashinbori-cho and Fukagawa-Saga-cho. You can see the Toyomi Bridge in front of the left side of the picture. You can also see many ships on the Nihonbashi River. The view was good and it was a cool place in summer, but you can imagine it from this picture. Since then, the bridge has collapsed, the flood has been washed away or burned down, and it has been rebuilt several times. And in 1897, an iron bridge was built over its current location.
Current Eitai Bridge
Due to the Great Kanto Earthquake, replacement was carried out in 1926 as part of the earthquake disaster reconstruction project, and was designated as a national important cultural property in 2007. Currently, it connects Shinkawa 1-chome with Saga / Eidai 1-chome in Koto-ku.
View the Eitai Bridge from the Koto-ku side
I wanted to capture Toyomi Bridge and Eitai Bridge in a single photo as shown in the picture, so it is a photo from Koto-ku side.
Light-up‼
These two bridges are lit up at night and are very beautiful.
