The fusion of Kabuki and contemporary art seen in the front window of Nihonbashi Takashimaya
At the front window on the first floor of the main building of Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C., a powerful visual of works by the collaboration of Kabuki performance "Kanjincho" performed by Midai Koryoya and Asuka Irie are exhibited. Kabuki, a traditional performing art and contemporary art, are beautifully fused, making it part of the scenery of Nihonbashi.
Asuka Irie is a writer who draws attention for his unique mixed media work with collages and coloring of copperplate prints. At the art gallery on the 6th floor of the main building, Asuka Irie exhibition is being held from March 22nd (Wed) to 27th (Mon).
In the 8th floor hall of the main building, the Matsumoto Koshiro family Komaya exhibition is being held from Thursday, March 23 to April 3 (Monday). At the venue, you could enjoy the world of Kabuki at "Koryoya", which is fascinated by powerful stage costumes and stage photos, and the exhibition content was so impressive that it could not be considered free.
