Spring full-Japanese Hanasaki "Tokyo Kimono Show"-
The "Tokyo Kimono Show" was held in the Nihonbashi area from March 24 to 26. It is one of the largest kimono events in Japan and is held every year. "Kimono Style Exhibition", "Wa marche", "Stage", "Workshop". The venue is based on four themes, and the textile town and kimono town shops are open for three days.
Cat-chan workshop
I went to the cotton trading hall in Tomisawa-cho, which is close to Ningyocho. There are 70 shops from the third floor to the sixth floor. The photo shows the owner who came to help with Yoko Kaneko, a remake writer of "Neko-chan Kobo". Parasols and accessories are made from kimonos that are no longer worn, and we are also contracting to make parasols by ordering cloths of memories. A gorgeous umbrella flower was blooming in a kimono sleeping in a chest.
Meisen Collection
Meisen was very popular from the Taisho era to the early Showa era. At that time, it seemed that one in two people walking in Ginza wore Meisen. A collection of Kazue Kimura, a flower artist at the Meisen collector in Chichibu, was exhibited. Many of them were influenced by Art Deco, Art Nouveau and impressionist, who came to Japan during the Taisho Romance and Showa Modern times, showing how fashionable the Japanese were.
Demonstration of Tenugui Dyeing at Takeda Dyeing Works
Takeda Dyeing Works was founded for 300 years and is a traditional dyeing factory in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture. I was doing a demonstration to dye Tenugui. Tracking the place where some colors were dropped with sticks to make the pattern. I put a cloth on it and dyed it, and in about 10 minutes the vivid Tenugui was completed. It was as if I saw a cafe latte art.
The tradition of Japanese.
The theme of this year's Tokyo Kimono Show was "Kimono Time Capsule", and Showa Retro was moving in Reiwa. Every shop was immersed in a new world of Japanese with changing materials and shapes according to the present age, design and color matching. There are a lot of people wearing kimonos on the street. I'm looking forward to seeing what you will see next year.
Thank you to Mr. Nakano, the chairman of the executive committee, Mr. Kaneko, Mr. Miyazawa of the cat workshop, for your cooperation.
