"Tokyo Art Antique 2023-Nihonbashi / Kyobashi Art Festival-" was held for three days from April 27 (Thu) to April 29 (Sat), 2023.
Tokyo Dumbo has been visiting a special talk event on the 28th and a special exhibition on the 29th.
Special talk event "Moromoro Art Talk"
A special talk event was held from 19:00 to 20:30 on April 28 (Friday) at Meijiya in Kyobashi, entitled "Moromoro Art Talk".
Toshinobu Yasumura, Deputy Director of the Seikado Bunko Art Museum Museum, who moved to the Meiji Seimeikan in front of the Imperial Palace last year, and Kimiyuki Kawashima, Representative Director of Kyobashi's leading antique store, Kouyama Ryusendo.
The dialogue is composed of three parts, and you can hear stories with connotations from both sides about "1 art work unknown whereabouts", "2 revolutions of masterpieces", "3 unexpected endings", and 1 hour and 30 minutes in no time Was.
I would like to introduce two of them.
Yoshinaka Nakamura "Shiraumezu" Chiba City Museum of Art
This is the work of Yoshinaka Nakamura, a painter of Rinpa who was active mainly in Osaka, and it was owned by Mr. Yasumura in the past. It seems that he gave up because it became difficult to secure a space to appreciate at home, but a few years later, an antique shop told me that a masterpiece came out and went to see it, it was this "Shiraume figure" .
After that, this work was stored in the Chiba City Museum of Art and was introduced as one of Yoshinaka Nakamura's masterpieces.
When Mr. Yasumura said to his wife, "I did something regrettable," his wife said, "If you have it, it will not be a masterpiece," and Mr. Yasumura also answered, "Sorry." . You're a wife!
Tokyo National Museum
This is Ye Kiln, famous as a government kiln in North Soong Province, China.
Ye Kiln is said to have been created by the Imperial Court of Northern Soong, and is known as a rare Chinese ceramics in the world and is said to have only more than 70 points in the world. There are two in Japan, one of which is this celadon board at the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno.
In 1954, he wanted to be exhibited as one of the miscellaneous items at the Tokyo Art Club auction, and the president of Mayuyama Ryusen-do at that time saw the goodness of this work and made a successful bid.
Immediately after, Yasunari Kawabata, who came to Cocoonyama Ryusen-do, purchased it, and it was also a picture of Yasunari Kawabata's complete collection.
Both the white plum figure and the celadon board thy kiln are now stored in the museum. They told us that the value of the masterpieces will be determined as they go around various collectors, and that it is desirable to eventually fit in the museum.
Tour of special exhibitions
From here, I would like to introduce some of the shops I visited on the 29th.
Shinobazu Gallery, Kokin East and West
The Shinobazu Gallery, located on the fourth floor of the building facing Sakura-dori St., adjacent to Takashimaya, held a special exhibition entitled "The Collective Box of the East and West of Kokin," featuring contemporary art and MIX, based on the concept of "good things are good = want" regardless of old or present.
On the 29th, I visited the writer, Hidetaka Furu, and had a fun talk.
Furukaha is serialized in the town magazine "Monthly Nihonbashi" from the June 2017 issue to the December 2019 issue, and while the theme of Edo and Nihonbashi, landscape, food and popular culture, customs, society, etc. Many works were drawn from various perspectives and had homages to their predecessors.
MASATAKA CONTEMPORARY & Sansiao Gallery
There are two gallery spaces, MASATAKA CONTEMPORARY and Sansiao Gallery, located on the first basement floor where the Chuo-dori of Nihonbashi 3-chome and Yojuin-dori intersect, and I visited for the first time.
It is unique to this opportunity to visit a new shop while watching the red pamphlet distributed at Tokyo Art Antique.
At MASATAKA CONTEMPORARY, "nagu / itabamoe two-person exhibition" PINK MOOD " "was held.
The owner explained that the works of the two young people are placed in the symmetrical and displayed so that they can enjoy the contrast.
The theme is "Do you want to drown in our pink?" And it's pop, but I got the impression that there's a back.
At the Sansiao Gallery, a photo exhibition entitled "BEYOND THE AGES / PORTRAIT" was being held. In addition to the collections of the gallery, there are also new works by the artist.
At this Tokyo Art Antique, I was able to see not only the above three stores, but also various works such as Chinese antique, Edo period Otsu-e, Orient art, stoneware, etc.
In addition, there are many young people who come, the city is lively, and I'm really looking forward to next year!
