 2023 Call for Solidarity

 In order to raise global interest in the protection and support of refugees and to deepen understanding of the activities of UN agencies and NGOs, the United Nations General Assembly on December 4, 2000 decided to designate June 20 as World Refugee Day every year.   Ukraine Crisis, Turkey·As of the end of 2022, there were approximately 110 million refugees and refugees who fled overseas due to conflicts, persecution, or disasters in major earthquake and Sudan, Syria.          On June 20, World Refugee Day, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Japan supported local governments, businesses and organizations around Japan.·With the cooperation, more than 40 landmarks nationwide, including the Tokyo Sky Tree and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building 1, were illuminated in blue with the image of the United Nations color, further understanding of refugee issues, and "Refugee support for society as a whole" Called for solidarity.              The special lighting time of the Tokyo Sky Tree is from 19:45 to 22:00.                From Chuo-ohashi Bridge, the Tokyo Sky Tree overlooking the illuminated Eitai Bridge sends a message with a wish for the United Nations color "blue".
