The 350th anniversary of the opening of Echigo-ya, special exhibition-Mitsui Memorial Museum

In 1673 (1673), the "Takatoshi Mitsui and Echigoya" exhibition began to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the opening of Mitsui Echigoya this year.

"We will follow the founding period of Echigoya by Takatoshi Mitsui and their children in an easy-to-understand manner using socio-economic historical materials," says the aim of this exhibition. Speaking of Mitsui Echigo-ya, although there is fragmentary knowledge such as the commercial law of "no cash value", "ancestral is samurai" and "notebook is Isematsusakaechishi", it is not possible to grasp the history after the end, I was able to clean up gradually.

There are various rare exhibits, and the recent exhibition is pleased to see that the number of "shootable" exhibits has increased and I have taken some photos. It is made of copper in a thousand boxes for storage in the storehouse. There is also the weight of the box itself, so if you enter a thousand cars, you will hesitate not only for fire prevention purposes but also for thieves.

This is a catalog of "wool products" that came in via Nagasaki made at a purchasing shop in Kyoto, and what I thought was amazing is that a sample of fabric is attached. "From kesa to Drawing" is famous for handling anything cloth products, but you already have imported goods from overseas.

The 350-year history is displayed on the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi show window in an easy-to-understand panel. If you look at it together with the exhibition, I think it's even more interesting.
