200th Anniversary Lecture in Siebold
"Siebolt father and son story by descendants,"
Sunday, August 13 14: 00-16: 00 @ Book Forest Chuo

Hello, it's "Take-chan". The photo shows the Siebold statue of "Akatsuki Park" in Tsukiji, ward. My daughter, Oine, had opened a maternity hospital in Tsukiji, so it seems that Tsukiji has a connection.

Siebold (1796-1866) arrived in Dejima, Nagasaki in July 1823, and was active in opening a private supplementary school in Narutaki, Nagasaki during medical treatment. From March 4 to April 12, heading to Edo in New Year's Day 1826, staying at Nagasakiya in Nihonbashi (now near Cored Muromachi, just above JR Shin-Nihonbashi Station), interviewing Dutch scholars in Edo, and having a great influence. It seems to have had. However, after that, the "Siebolt incident" occurred and was expelled from Japan. In his later years, in 1859, he returned to Japan as an advisor to the Shogunate, but later returned to Germany and was no longer Munich.

Since his wife was a Japanese (Taki-san), the descendants of Siebold are still active in Japan. In this book, "Book Forest Chuou (Kyobashi Library)," an event where descendant "Tadasou Sekiguchi" talks about (1) the history of Siebold, 2) his son Alexander and Heinrich Brothers 3 Oine. Will be Applications can be made on a first-come, first-served basis from July 23. Please refer to the following link for details.
