2023 Summer at the height of azure sky

On July 22, the Japan Meteorological Agency announced that the Kanto Koshin region is expected to have started the rainy season three days later than normal and one day earlier than last year. . As in many years, the Pacific high pressure increased overhanging near Honshu, not the end of the rainy season by pushing up the seasonal rain front, but the rainy season when seasonal rain front moved south to the south of Honshu and weakened there and disappeared.·It was an unusual year when there was no announcement of the end of the rainy season only in the south. After the rainy season on June 8, the rainfall in central Tokyo was low and remained at 107.5 mm, about 40% of the normal average, but the total water storage of eight dams in the Tone River water system except the Yaba Dam, which is regarded as a water reservoir in the Kanto region, is about 110% of the average from 1992 to 2022. With the summer performance, "cumulus", also called "cotton clouds", is springing up with clear contours unique to this season, and the upper surface is swelling. When the surface is heated due to the intense sunlight in midsummer and a strong updraft occurs, it develops vertically and changes to a "cumulonimbus" (commonly known as an entrance cloud), and when it develops further, thunder thunder roars. Looking up the upper reaches of the Sumida River from Kachidokibashi, the clear sky blue spreading in the sky is impressive.
