This is Edo Minato, a historic waterside town.
In the Edo period, transportation of goods was mainly carried by boat. It is a large Japanese ship called Benzaisen, where the United States, soy sauce, oil, charcoal, etc. gathered here in Edo Minato from all over the country.
These supplies were transshipped into Setori ships and transported to each riverbank through waterways stretched like a mesh throughout Edo City, such as the Nihonbashi River, Kamejima River, and Hatchobori.
Chuo-ku is the center of Edo and is exactly the capital of water.
Now, many rivers have been reclaimed, but you can find the remnants of the bridge over there here and there.
