Opening of Rivers in Ryogoku: Sumida River Fireworks Festival for the First Time in Four Years
In 1732, it was unparalleled bad harvest, and due to the spread of plague, many people died. It is said that Yatsushiro Shogun Yoshimune Tokugawa, who was worried about the situation, held a water god festival on the Sumida River in 1733 to pray for the eradication of illness and the memorial service of the dead. This year's Sumida River Fireworks Festival was held for the first time in four years and was crowded with many people. It was a good fireworks festival. It may have been a similar situation 300 years ago with the dawn of COVID-19. There may be a lot of difficulties in the times, but we have overcome it now. I hope you can see beautiful fireworks next year.
For those who missed the fireworks, today's fireworks display.
