2023 "Large Nobori Flag" Increase in the excitement of the main festival for the first time in five years

 From August 4th to 7th, Tsukuda Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine's annual "main festival" is held once every three years.      This was the first time in five years since COVID-19 was postponed for two consecutive years in 2021 and 2022.                   On July 2nd (Sun), dig up the pillars (pillars and holdings) of the large banner buried at the bottom of Funairi moat in the north of Tsukuda Kobashi, wash it with water, dry it, and then on July 30 (Sun), a large flag pillar is set up, Friday, August 4 10:00, Tsukuda Uegami Sumiyoshi Festival 10:00 A pillar of about 18m in length is inserted into a thick cedar square timber (hugi), a round bundle of Sakaki leaves is bundled at the tip of the pillar, and a thinly cut cypress skin is attached to a white cloth with Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine. It was built in Kansei 10 (1798), and was approved by the town Edo shogunate.                      Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine is erected in the direction of Edo Castle Momijiyama Toshogu Shrine (northwest), which enshrines Ieyasu Tokugawa, as if looking at the city of Edo in front, and the large banner was also seen from quite a distance. It is said that the highest Fujimi Ogura in Edo Castle after the castle was burned down, in order to see the general at a glance.                       It is also depicted in the 100 views of Hiroshige Utagawa famous Edo "Tsukuda Shima Sumiyoshino Festival".
