~ Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine Reisai Festival~
Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine Reisai Festival, Tsukuda Island, has continued since the Edo period. For the first time in five years.
On Saturday, I went out to the lion head shrine in the morning. Here, three pairs of lion heads laid in worship hall are put out one pair of males and females, rubbing the lion heads and raising their heads, and the young people grab the nose of the lion head quickly and compete for the nose rope.

Adults portable shrine and children portable shrine in each town go to Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine one after another.
At the festival, a ceremony is held to transfer the sacred object of worship, which is enshrined in the main shrine of the shrine, to portable shrine.
Carrying the portable shrine and walking around the city means that God travels around the city. This is imperial procession.
In the main festival once every three years, six large banners are built on Tsukuda Island. It is reported that a large banner with a height of 18 meters was allowed to be built by the Shogunate in 1798 (1798). The pillars of the banner and the tree are usually buried in Tsukuda moat and are dug out every time the festival is held.
