Kibana cosmos (also known as Kibanaakizakura) is planted in a flower garden of about 3,000 m2 in the Hamarikyu Onshi Garden. It bloomed in late July and bloomed for about a month, delighting visitors' eyes, but it will soon reach a remnant season. Cosmos is a general term for the Asteraceae family native to Mexico. The Japanese name is Akizakura, and the narrow sense is "Oharshagiku", a representative variety. The leaves are split twice with compound leaves, and the leaves are almost thread-like, and the flowers (head flowers) consist of ligulate flower and cylindrical flowers, ligulate flower is white to light red to dark red, tubular flowers are yellow, and originally short-day. Kibana cosmos is a type of cosmos genus. It has a wide range of leaf fragments, yellow or orange tongue flowers, the original short-day is diluted, and it is said that it blooms well even in the midsummer and bears fruit. Kibana Cosmos had only a yellow system, but Masayuki Hashimoto created a red variety for the first time, "Sunset", and then varieties were born one after another, and today the flower color and bloom are diverse. Two early-blooming varieties of orange-red "Diaboro" and yellow "Dwarf yellow" are planted, but despite being produced by breeding, as in the flower language of "wild beauty", it makes you feel vitality.
