My belief (Tsukiji Honganji)
Until September 15, Tsukiji Honganji was exhibiting the Great Kanto Earthquake.
The description in it reveals one thing that I had mistakenly assumed.
That's Mr. Tsukiji Honganji's direction of main hall.
Before the earthquake, I had been facing the Tsukiji Outer Market (to the south).
After the earthquake, I thought that it had changed to the current Kyobashi Tsukiji Elementary School (to the west).
However,
During the panel exhibition, main hall and others were burned down in September 1893.
It was described that main hall, which was rebuilt in 1901, was already facing west.
It was changed in consideration of the convenience of worshipers.
It seems that it was a Shishinden style that imitated Honganji Temple in Kyoto.
I didn't know, reflect on it!
It's hard!
Make
After the main hall was burned down in the earthquake, a plan to relocate from Tsukiji to Shinagawa-ku was launched.
If it had been realized, what would have happened to the ruins of Tsukiji Honganji?
