The theme of this year's "Shokuiki" is "Edo Vegetables". Edo vegetables are vegetables that have been eaten since the Edo period. In Kitaoji's menu, "Edo vegetables" are used for the main sukiyaki and small bowls. In particular, Komatsuna used in small bowls is a representative vegetable of Edo, which is said to have been named by the 8th Shogun Yoshimune. In the Edo period, Kyobashi was also the place where there was a fruit and vegetable market, which sells fresh vegetables to citizens, called "Kyobashi Daikon Riverside Fruit Market".
