In addition, tourists from abroad also gathered at stalls and Bon Odori venues in the lively and fun atmosphere of Bettara City.
When I joined the dance circle late at the end of work and danced, I found a group of three tourists who were hesitant to enter the circle while dancing.
That's right! Many Bon Odori is performed at the neighborhood association level, and I think that not only Japanese people who know it, but also overseas people who do not know dance are worried whether they can enter the circle.
So I boldly called out and taught the choreography of the popular song "Dancing Hero" and the classic song "Tokyo Ondo" in English, and enjoyed the international Bon Odori for a while.♪
While many familiar songs played at the Bon Dance Festival in Chuo-ku, they danced twice each of the local songs such as "Nihonbashi Ondo", "Kodemmacho Ondo", and "Bettara Ondo".
From the lyrics of local songs that flow only in a limited place, you can learn about the characteristics and history of the area.
In particular, "Kodemmacho Ondo" had a scene of dancing with hands with people on both sides, making it easier for the sense of unity to increase.
In addition, "Betara Ondo" has a unique choreography using hand towels, which perfectly matches the lyrics and the atmosphere of Bettara City, so it is recommended to enjoy not only the stalls but also the dance!
