This bridge was built in 1979 in conjunction with the construction of the Metropolitan Expressway No. 9 Fukagawa Line in 1979, and was constructed on the highway (upper stage).

It has a two-layer structure of a general road (lower).

The bridge name was named one character from Fukagawa Kiyosumi-cho and Nihonbashinakasu on both sides.

It was built in 1928 (1928) as a reconstruction bridge after the Great Kanto Earthquake.

The model was the Great suspension bridge (Hindenburg Bridge) over the Rhine River in Germany.

It has an elegant shape of a self-standard suspended steel bridge.

In 2007 (2007), it was designated as a national important cultural property by the evaluation of "Suspension Bridge representing the early Showa era".

The first bridge is said to have been built in 1698 (1698) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 5th Shogun Tsunayoshi Tokugawa.

It was built about 150m upstream (Hakozaki side) from the current bridge position.

During the Fukagawa Hachimangu Shrine Festival in 1807 (1807), the bridge was dropped due to the weight of many people, as well as floods and burnouts.

It has been replaced many times.

In 1926 (1926), after the Great Kanto Earthquake, it was replaced by the current bridge.

Its magnificent appearance was designated as a national important cultural property in 2007 (2007).

The current bridge was completed in 1927 (1927) as a reconstruction bridge after the Great Kanto Earthquake.

Designed in consideration of the balance with the Eitai Bridge over the Sumida River, it is an unusual design that looks like a ladder lying.

 It is a steel-frame bridge.
