[Excursion Series No. 53] Discovered at Mt. Koya-san Okunoin! Tokyo Kodemmacho Daianrakuji Temple

Hello. I'm Hanes, an active correspondent.
This "Excursion Series", which has exceeded 50 times, introduces various connections with Chuo-ku found in various parts of Japan.
Last time, I introduced the relationship between Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture and Ginza, but this time I would like to focus on Wakayama Prefecture.

However, even if you vaguely ask, "What is the relationship between Wakayama Prefecture and Chuo-ku?"
So, when I narrowed down to the keyword "temple", I came to see an interesting connection.
That is the relationship between Mt. Koya-san, where Kobo Daishi opened, and Daianrakuji Temple in Nihonbashikodenmacho.

In the first place, Daianrakuji Temple is the quasi-class Motoyama of Mt. Koya-san Shingon sect.
This place was originally the place where the execution site was, and Yoshida Shoin was also executed here.
At the beginning of the Meiji era, the head priest of the Godaiyama Fudoin, located in Bei-cho, Azabu City, recommended Kobo Daishi from Mt. Koya-san to make it a main deity to comfort the spirits wandering around here and make it a clean place!

I refrained from taking photos because it was a sacred place, but on Mt. Koya-san Okunoin, there was a stone monument with the names of donors such as head priest and caretakers engraved with "Daian Rakuji Temple in Kodenmacho" and "Tokyo Azabu Fudoin".
warload of the Warring States period, companies and celebrities, burial ground and Peace pagoda, but if you have the opportunity to walk from Ichinobashi to Okunoin, be sure to look for something engraved with Daianrakuji Temple!
(In the case of Chuo-ku, there was also the burial ground of Takumi Asano, Akaho feudal lord, who once set up an Edo-kami mansion in St. Luke's International University and St. Luke's International Hospital.)

Daianrakuji Temple has a strong image of a temple built on the site of the execution site, and when I saw the word "Kodenmacho Daian Rakuji" in Okunoin, I couldn't immediately remember the relationship with Mt. Koya-san.
However, because of such unexpected discoveries, I was able to deepen my knowledge of Daianrakuji Temple and remembered it.♪
