"Fruit and Herb Sample Garden" known to those who know it
Hello. It's Hanes.
When you live in Chuo-ku, where there are many office buildings and condominiums, you sometimes miss nature.
Therefore, for the first time in a long time, I visited the fruit tree and herb sample garden near Shimbashi Enbujo and Uneme Bridge, known to those who know.
(Click here for the report on the first visit: "Fruit and Herb Sample Garden" where karin and sage grow.)
Actually, this sample garden is quietly located in the back of Tsukiji River Unemebashi Park, so among those who have visited nearby, there are many people who say, "I did not know that there is such a sample garden!" I think there are many.
The park in mid-August is really rich in greenery.
Take mosquito control and start a walk to see what plants are being planted again!
The first thing I noticed was the signboard of Ginza's willow.
At present, it is explained that the roots of the willow in Ginza that we see in the city of Ginza are in the Azumino region of Nagano Prefecture.
For more information about the relationship between Ginza's willow and Azumino region, please see the past article "[Excursion Series 43rd] Visit Ginza's willow's hometown, Azumino."
A few steps further, I noticed that green fruits were falling at my feet.
I wondered what it was, and when I looked at the trees planted nearby, I found that it was Karin.
In the innermost part of the park, although the fruit could not be confirmed, Japanese bayberry and plum trees are also planted.
As the name suggests, various fruit trees are planted, while herbs such as sage and rosemary are also available!
In addition, there was a birth commemorative tree planted about 30 years ago in the park, and the trunk was equipped with a message board stating "Thank you for always taking care."
In Chuo-ku, there are also areas that are crowded with department stores and brand stores that wonder where people live.
I was able to see such a message near such an area and touch the warmth of the community.
There is a highway near the sample garden, where passing cars and trucks can be seen a little from between the trees, reminding you that this nature-rich place is in Chuo-ku.
When you come close, why don't you stop by this place that makes you feel like you've been to a suburban forest somewhere?
