      ―The Japanese scent of Shoeido―
    Workshop on making odor incense

Autumn's annual event `` Chuo-ku Marugoto Museum '', there are buses guided by correspondents running, various exhibitions, workshops, concerts, town walks and cruises, etc. Time passes in a blink of an eye.

Last year, I experienced how to burn incense at Shoeido in Ginza. I was completely fascinated by the "scent of Japanese", and this year I participated in a "scenting incense making workshop" at a shop in Ningyocho. The incense burner placed under the signboard gives a windy scent.

Tablets processed with characteristic natural aromas such as lavender, cinnamon, choko, and dragon brain are lined up. From there, choose 15 pieces, 2-3 pieces each, and make your favorite combination. Put it in a non-woven bag, close your mouth and split it with your finger from above to mix.

Depending on the number of tablets you choose, you can make bags with different fragrances.

Choose your favorite drawstring, put the incense bag, and tie the string to it. The drawstring is placed on a table or shelf, and you can enjoy the scent for six months. The scented drawstring was taken home as a nice souvenir.

At the workshop, I was told about the raw materials and types of incense, and in 40 minutes the Japanese scent was created, including stories on how to use it. Suddenly, I wanted to live a quiet and fragrant life in a busy daily life.

Thank you very much to everyone at Shoeido.
