#Literary walk
Takuboku Ishikawa went to Ginza from Hongo Sanchome.
Good evening. It's "Take-chan."
On the middle day of the three consecutive holidays in early November, I walked around Hongo 3-chome. This area is the area where the University of Tokyo was built on the site of the former residence of the former Kaga Domain, and because of its influence, many literary artists set up their residences.
Higuchi Ichiyo, Miyazawa Kenji, Shusei Tokuda, Shoyo Tsubouchi, and Kodo Nomura, the creator of Taiji Zenigata, lived near Hongo Sanchome. Takuboku Ishikawa is a literary scholar who has a connection to Chuo-ku. When Takuboku worked for the Tokyo Asahi Shimbun in Ginza since 1909, he seems to have commuted from around Hongo 3-chome by Toden.
Work
I don't think it's easy to live.
See your hand
Takuboku Ishikawa is famous for his handful of sand. Let's look back on the life of Takuboku roughly.
- His real name is Hajime Ishikawa (Hajime Ishikawa). Born in Iwate Prefecture. He graduated from elementary school at the top, and is called a prodigy locally. At a junior high school in Morioka, Kyosuke Kindaichi, four years older, taught me the fun of literature, carefully read the literary magazine Venus, influenced by Yosano Akiko, and was absorbed in his first love.
- At the age of 17, he first gave himself the name of "Takuboku" and published a long poem in "Venus" and attracted attention.
- 19 years old (1905), published a collection of virgin poems "A longing"! Being married to her from junior high school, she had to feed her parents and wife, and she was no longer a literary point.
- At the age of 20, he started working as a substitute teacher for elementary school (born her eldest daughter at the end of the year).
- At the age of 21, he worked for temporary employment, substitute teachers, newspaper employees, etc. of the Hakodate Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hokkaido, but he was not satisfied with any job and moved to Hakodate, Sapporo, Otaru, and Kushiro.
- At the age of 22, he relied on his old friend Kyosuke Kindaichi to return to Tokyo.
- At the age of 23 (1909, 1909), he participated in the launch of the magazine "Subaru" after participating in Ougai's singing party with Tetsumi Yosano the previous year. I got a job at the proofreader of the Tokyo Asahi Shimbun.
- At the age of 24, he was appointed as the winner of the newspaper podium, but his life is still severe.
- At the age of 26 (1912, 1912), he received a visit from Soseki Natsume at the beginning of the year. In March, Takuboku's mother died of pulmonary tuberculosis, and the following month, Takuboku was also seriously pulmonary tuberculosis. At around 9:30 am on April 13, he died of pulmonary tuberculosis at his home in Kuken-cho, Koishikawa-ku.
Takuboku seems to have had an edge in Bunkyo-ku. I lived three times in Tokyo to build up myself with literature. The first time (1902) was (now Bunkyo-ku), Otowa 1-chome Hachimanzakagami. The second time (1904) came to Tokyo to publish a collection of virgin poems "Akogare". The first place that calmed down was the Yayoi Mukaiga Okamachi. In Tokyo for the third time (1908), in order to concentrate on creative activities after wandering life in Hokkaido, I stayed at Akashinkan in Kikuzakacho, following my senior Kyosuke Kindaichi. After that, he moved to the nearby "Kyoheikan Villa", and then moved to "Yoshiyuki floor" (currently Arai barber shop) in Yumicho (near Hongo Sanchome Station) with his family.
The photo above shows the information board on the site of "Kyoheikan Villa". Now it is an apartment, but Takuboku seems to be pleased that he lived in a three-and-a-half tatami room on the third floor of "Kyoheikan Villa" for nine months and said, "I can see Fuji and see Fuji."
Near the site of "Kyoheikan Villa", there is also the site of "Akashinkan" and "Yoshiyuki floor" (currently Arai barber shop). In addition, there is also a nearby area where literary enthusiasts and celebrities from the Taisho era and Showa eras (Yumeji Takehisa, Junichirou Tanizaki, Yuriko Miyamoto, Ango Sakaguchi, Oishi Nanabun, Sakae Osugi, etc.) have been staying at the same time. It is also close to the area where people who like literature and enjoy walking around the city like "Take-chan" who love not so much.
