"Machinakaka" in Tokyo also started in Chuo-ku!

★This is an introduction of a new book.

Apart from the discerning ramen restaurant, the popular Chinese restaurant that is now popular with Ziwajiwa is a privately run popular Chinese restaurant called "Machinakaka".

In the Showa era, there were one or two "Nakaya" and "set meal shops", which appeared in towns at once, in any town.

Not only noodles such as ramen, but also bowls and stir-fry, dishes such as gyoza and shumai, curry rice, grilled fish set meals, desserts and coffee were also available depending on the shop. Of course, delivery is also OK. We loved this town, where the town people can easily enter and fill their stomachs.

Going back to the history of Machichuka in Tokyo, you will arrive at Daishoken Honten, a Chinese restaurant located in Chuo Ward. Founded in 1913 (Daisho 2), this shop was located in Nihonbashi Ningyocho (then Naniwacho).

Currently, it has become a coffee shop with a different business format, but the name of "Daishoken" is firmly preserved.

※For details, please refer to "Coffee Daishoken" as we have told you in this blog before.

By the way, a book full of the charm of Showa-born food culture has come out, mainly in such a lovely town Chuka, so I will introduce it.

It is Toro Kitao's "Sunset Red Town Nakaka" (published by Shueisha International: 1600 yen + tax). I've been in the bookstore since June fifth.

This book is a book compiled by the author Kitao with a little courage to interview the owner of a silent and craftsman-like Chinese restaurant.

The book starts with "Daishoken Honten" in Ningyocho at the beginning of "Where did Nakahana come from", but don't reveal the details of the content. Please check it on your own.

After reading, even if you are a gourmet, you should go to a nearby Chinese restaurant only on that day.
