The Sanno Festival began
Friday, June seventh. The Sanno Festival has begun.
Two highlights of this festival are the Shinko Festival on Friday 7th and the Shimomachi Union imperial procession on Sunday 9th. That's why I went to see the Shinko Festival today on the 7th.
However, this Shinto festival parades through a wide area of the city center. It is really difficult to walk everything, so I started watching from the one with the station building at Tokyo Station, in front of the Imperial Palace (Chiyoda-ku), and then toured various parts of Chuo-ku.
The cruise of this Shinto Festival is a large row of 500 people and 300 meters in total. It's a very gorgeous and elegant cruise, such as Ohori, Miya portable shrine, and floats.

This huge Oshiri float is the first appearance this time.
I'm an elephant.
At the time of Yoshimune Tokugawa, elephants came to Edo and gained popularity, and then the elephant floats appeared at the Sanno Festival in the Edo period. This float seems to have been dedicated by Shimizu Construction and Nihonbashi Takashimaya, who are familiar companies in Chuo-ku.
For Takashimaya Nihonbashi, elephants are very related animals.
If you look closely, this elephant is relatively powerful, but enters Chuo-ku from Kajibashi and enters Chuo-ku.

We arrived at Nihonbashi Hie-jinja Shrine (auxiliary shrine) in Nihonbashikayabacho. I've been taking a break for a while.
Shortly after, the line departed from Nihonbashi Hie-jinja Shrine.

The elephant also raises his heavy waist. Then we turned left at the intersection of Nihonbashi and entered Chuo-dori. It's Takashimaya soon.
<Kabuto-cho>
The building of Nihonbashi Takashimaya was built in 1933 and is an important cultural property. At a time after the war, there was an elephant named "Takako" on the roof of this building, which had gained tremendous popularity.
<In front of the hot Nihonbashi Takashimaya today>
This time, it's an act that makes you feel the history of Nihonbashi Takashimaya. Today's elephant did not go up on the roof, but when he passed in front of the store, there was a hot applause.
Then, after passing through Ginza Street of many people, the line returned to Hie-jinja Shrine.

By the way, Sunday 9th is the Union imperial procession set in Chuo-ku. It's a wasshoi wasshoi type of downtown. The climax will be in front of Mr. Takashimaya Nihonbashi, so it will be hot again. Please come by all means.
