Minatokko Diary Christmas in Akashicho

I walked around Akashicho for Christmas.

Minato kid is

I'm going out with a Santa Claus hat.

At the Tsukiji Catholic Church

From December 24th to 25th

There was a Christmas Mass.

Beautiful pediment with lilies and rose patterns.

The cathedral, built in 1985, is located.

Designed by Father Dilodias and Otojiro Ishikawa

It's the Greek temple Parthenon style.

The oldest Catholic church in Tokyo.

At the entrance of the majestic Doris order column

The statue of St. Paul welcomes us.

Due to the Great Kanto Earthquake, Tsukiji foreign settlements have been remnant.

In this town that has all disappeared

Only this statue of St. Paul was miraculously left.

I'm wearing a Santa Claus hat today!

Find it, smile.

The bell of Angelas

Jeanne Louise of Edo, too

I'm totally surprised.

Inside the cathedral, a large Christmas tree and

Reproducing the scene of the birth of Christ

It's decorated with a crash.

Just looking at it makes you feel strict.

Not to mention Christians

Everyone in the neighborhood,

I visited Chuo-ku for sightseeing

There was also a foreigner.

I got the same heart

The strangers of the country and life are different.

Gathering in one place

I feel precious.

From the chapel of St. Luke

Melody of Carillon chime…。

Every year on December 24 and 25.

The Christmas melody will flow only on this day.

Go straight down the settlement street,

The Christmas tree in St. Luke Garden is beautiful.

Take the green road toward Tsukiji.

Then you will be at the Telecommunications Founding Monument.

December 25, 1869

Japan's first public telecommunication

It began in this place.

From the telegraph office located in the Tsukiji Unjo Station.

A 32-km telegraph line was laid to the court in Yokohama.

It's wonderful that Christmas begins.

Still, for the first time in Akashicho

It was in 1874 that the Christmas party was held.

At the time when the telegraph line was laid, I still used the lunar calendar.

It wouldn't have been a Christmas mood as it is now, but

I found a small Christmas here too.

The town is a winter color.

I'm going to bring some quiet time.

Only a few remain this year…。

Thank you very much for this year too.

I hope you will be able to discover a lot of the charms of Chuo-ku next year.

Minato kid walks well!

We look forward to seeing you again next year.

I hope you have a good year.
